  18.      about a task or milestone, you use the
  19.      ~Task form~2.

  21.      To add detail about your project or to
  22.      change project defaults, you use the
  23.      ~Project form~2.

  34.     at the PERT chart window.  You now get the
  35.     the project and put it back in that window.

  55. To edit information on a Task form, you move the
  56. cursor to the task or milestone on the PERT chart.
  57. Then you choose the form for it.  You're on Start
  58. so first move to the milestone ~Booth~2.

  74. see now at the top of the form.  (This Tutorial
  75. window is covering the bottom part of the form.)

  79. You can change the ~Name~2 and ~Responsible~2
  80. fields and add a ~Code~2 for sorting reports.

  84. You use the fields for ~constraints~2 to indicate
  85. dates imposed on the milestone by events outside
  86. the project.  (For example, in construction the
  87. painting can't start until the plaster dries--a
  88. late constraint).

  93. a fuller explanation of the milestone.

  97. The lower half of the form, which you see now,
  98. contains data that HPM supplies.  You can view
  99. this data, but you can't change it.

  103. Now take a look at a Task form
  104. for a task that's not a milestone.
  105. First, return to the PERT chart.

  109. Move the triangular cursor to the task ~Plan~2.

  114. again. Remember the Ctrl-T speed key for later.

  122. Like the milestone form, this Task form contains
  123. fields you can change (you see them now at the
  124. top of the form) and fields that HPM calculates.

  126. You can change some of the same information: the
  127. task name, the person responsible.  You can add
  128. a code and description here, too.

  132. But the Task form contains some information not found
  133. on a Milestone form.  For example, HPM assumes that
  134. the task will start ~as soon as possible~2.  (Note the
  135. ~ASAP~2 in the ~Pln start~2 field.)  You can change
  136. this default.  In addition, you can add the actual
  137. start and finish for the task.  You can include some
  138. cost information here, too.

  142. The information you see now at the bottom of the
  143. form is calculated by HPM.  You can view this
  144. information, but you can't change it directly.

  148. HPM has already filled in some data about this task,
  149. such as its planned start and finish.  But the cost
  150. information (at the very bottom of the form) can't be
  151. calculated until you supply more data.

  155. You use the Milestone and Task forms to specify
  156. information about individual tasks.  To include data
  157. about the whole project, use the Project form.  Now
  158. you can return to the PERT to see the Project form.

  181. creating the project. HPM then calculated the date
  182. for ~Planned finish~2 from your information.

  186. The information HPM displays at the bottom of the
  187. Project form is similar to that of the Task form.
  188. In this case, it's for the entire project, not just
  189. an individual task.

  194. to show cost information--for the entire project.
